Roger appeared in the first episode "Big Brother". Although a supporting/recurring character in the early years of the show, his appearances became more frequent as time went on. He appeared in the 1996 Christmas Trilogy, and then the 2001-2003 Christmas Trilogy, which marked his final appearance as the character.
Roger was keen to reprise the role of Trigger in the 2014 Sport Relief special "Beckham in Peckham", with a part for Trigger being written in. But his poor health and later passing ruled out the possibility, so Trigger was omitted from the script and the mini episode paid tribute to Roger instead.
